Welcome to my blog! The first 100 copies of the The Magic Touch: How to Make $100,000 per year were released today and I can’t wait to hear from those that purchased it. I put my heart and soul into writing this book. It is my deepest desire that every healer who reads it find something within it’s pages that resonates with them, sparks an idea or two, gives them a giggle and most importantly provides them with advice never-before given about how to earn a great living while working only twenty hours per week.
Whether you live in a small town, large city, are medical massage or spa treatment oriented, new to this profession, or seasoned but still not getting the results you seek… this book for you.
If 80% of the world’s wealth is in the hands of 20% of the people, shouldn’t it be in the hands of caring individuals like yourself? Individuals who contribute positively to the world? I believe it should. I will continue to communicate everything I have learned in my fourteen year ascent from broke and unhappy, to prosperous and living the life I love in this blog; for those of who don’t prefer the paper version.
Here’s to a life of healing! Cheers!
~Meagan
Congratulations Meagan! I haven’t met you yet but seems like I have known you for over a year now since I first started massage school. I listened to your advice over a year ago and thankfully my instructors were amazing, passionate teachers that not only taught us well but inspired us to be better people and listen to our intuition.
I hope you will continue to offer advice and know you will also inspire other massage therapists.
I wish you well.
Kirstin
Can’t wait to read your book and share it with all of our current and future members.
Thanks for having the passion to share with other professionals in the industry.
Just finished reading the Do’s and Don’t's. Very informative so far and I can feel the passion of your service. I can tell it’s sinking in by the subtle changes I’ve noted while giving a massage. I’m going to need to learn bounderies! I can’t wait to keep reading Healing Touch. Thank you for providing this information.

To add or not to add? That is the question! Are you friends w/ clients on facebook?
Yes. If a client asks to befriend me, I don’t deny them. I do have two separate face book accounts, however. I don’t allow anyone to access my “friends” page that I don’t have a trusted relationship with because someone pretended to be my friend and befriended a “celeb” through me once. Now I’m extra careful. I have a professional page that anyone can join where I share information with other LMTs and we have fun time learning and growing.
The Magic Touch’s first chapter is all about building your boundaries within. In the early years my professional boundaries were so tightly strung that I doubt my healing abilities were coming through to potential clients very well. Once those boundaries sunk in on a subconscious level I attracted very few undesirable situations and was able to relax on the formalities and allow certain clients to befriend me. Some I still kept at arms length, but this is the same with people in your life. Use your intuition and observations to decide how to proceed.
Greetings and best wishes, Meagan! I read your book and was so pleased that I just went to order a copy for a friend who is almost finished with her massage education. I was surprised to see Amazon is out of stock! When do you think more will be available? I’ll just send my copy to my friend and order a new one for myself!
HI Sarah! I’m so glad you enjoyed The Magic Touch. I have been patiently awaiting the new cover, editor description, and reviews to upload to amazon. My printing press put the order in weeks ago, but these thing take time. The book’s current “out of stock” status means that all the changes are finally going through it will be selling again in a few days. I’m patiently waiting to begin marketing it to Massage Schools. I’m excited to get this information into every facet of our profession.
Thanks for your positive words! All the best of luck to you! ~Meagan
Hi Meagan,
Great book! I don’t know if I would look too good in the clothes you suggest but the other suggestions are wonderful!
Thanks for confiming that who I am is ok! Finally someone understands! My husband laughed when I read ‘At times you may be musunderstood.’ because I always am! My clients comment all the time about how my hands have ‘magnets’ in them and go right to the sore spots.
I’m only 1/2 way through but thought I would share my thoughts so far! Love it!
Annie
Hi Annie,
I totally understand what it is to be an intuitive person. It’s a great gift to have if you allow yourself the freedom to be “different”. Everything that I wrote in “The Magic Touch” was something I wish someone had told me when I entered this industry fourteen years ago. It would have made my ascent to happiness, security and well-being as a Massage Therapist, much easier and faster!
I’ve been eager to hear from someone like you. It makes me very happy to hear that you feel understood. That was my goal. Please leave a review on amazon.com when you’re finished. Keep me updated from time to time about where your magic-magnetic-touch leads you…
Good luck to you! ~ Meagan
Meagan,
I finished the book last night, it’s a page turner! I sent an email to a couple attorney offices and a friend who is an insurance broker to find out more info on PIP and L&I in Illinois. The area where I am doesn’t have 4* hotels but if I can get into the PIPs it would be fantastic.
I love your drive and especially the fact that you believe there should not be ‘competition’ in our field. I have been a therapist for 3 years now and the rudeness I have encountered form other LMTs is beyond comprehension. We need to stick together and support one another in this dog-eat-dog world in order to keep our sanity. I will keep praying the industry turns around.
It excites me that you wrote this book, I have wanted to write a book for ages and feel somehow ‘connected’ to you – that may sound weird, sorry. You have given me hope and faith that my dream will come to fruition one day!
Thanks for your vulnerability and expertise!
Have a tranquil day,
Annie
Annie,
Good for you for taking action immediately. With your attitude and willingness to move forward I expect you’ll reach your goals in no time.
I suggest sitting down and looking over your finances. Add up how much money is required for you to live a “good life”, have all your bills paid, and have the basic securities that you deserve such as a retirement fund and health insurance. Then figure out how many hours per week at what dollar amount you need to bring in to earn that amount of pay. Begin looking for ways to earn that amount. For example, if you feel that you can only charge an average of $70 per hour where you live, but your expenses demand that you earn $85 per hour to only work twenty hours per week, look for ways to make that additional $15 per hour.
For that additional money you can refer business to other MTs, sell a product line, or write articles for massage and spa magazines to meet your goal. You could start your own blog and allow adds to be placed in the sidebar… either would be a great way to get you comfortable with writing to an audience. The key is to set a goal that is reachable and exhaust all options of reaching it. Once you get the hang of meeting your goals, it continues to happen on auto pilot.
I find it sad that many MTs do not want to support one another. But i choose not to focus on those individuals. We are in an industry that has only touched the tip of the iceburg. We must join together in educating our communities on the benefits of massage to grow the number of clients who consider massage apart of their lifestyle – not compete with one another over our current client base.
I don’t think it’s weird that you feel connected to my message. I continue to be inspired by people that I may never meet face-to-face. The world is a mystery. It seems that when we enter conversations with a curiosity and an eagerness to learn, people come along to hold our hand (even in the pages of a book). The key is to take action from what you have learned. When something doesn’t go as planned… make a new plan. Life is meant to be lived with passion.
I look forward to reading YOUR book.
M
Hello Meagan,
Just remembered to come look at your page.
I am kindof a slow starter… finished school in April , passed my test in August , cards came last week and paid for insurance yesterday…. I have no way to pay rent on an office right now so I feel a little bit overwhelmed and scared.(I’ve been a stay at home mom of 5 beautiful Children for 16 yrs )
But in that overwhelm I stumbled across your book on Amazon. I am at the halfway point and just think it’s been awesome. I sure am grateful that it is out there, it has helped me feel a bit more like I have a cheerleader and real honest advice which seems hard to get so much in one spot.Especially if you don’t even know all the questions yet.
Do you have an opinion about starting work at a spa. I lack funds for rent. I think I have enough to get started as far as a table sheets supplies. Definitely nothing special just basics.
I’d rather not be a spa therapist for long, I was asked if I could work 40 hrs??!!! I thought what?who massages for 40hrs and likes it?
I know it isn’t what I want to do always, I live in a smaller town and a few hire at 50%…Plus I feel a little lacking in the business part as far as taxes and stuff. Maybe that is coming up in your book.
Anyway… I welcome any advice from you or anyone.
And Thank you for writing us a book on your experiences.
Love
Julie
Hi Julie,
Thanks for the feedback. Read the book all the way to the end, you’ll laugh because you’ll have most of your questions answered after you read the rest. As for the work week- you should not work anywhere near 40 hours per week! In order to keep being successful in this career for years to come you must learn how to bring in more and work less. This way you will remain healthy and happy for your kids.
If you get a chance to leave a review on amazon, I’d really appreciate it.
